The Mutant Epoch Hub Rules book

246 pages, black and white interior

The Mutant Epoch™ post-apocalyptic RPG challenges your in-game persona to survive in an age of rediscovery, high adventure, savage conflict, and freakish mutants and machines. Characters work in small excavation teams making forays into ruined cities, through junk strewn wastelands, twisted forests, nightmarish swamps and across polluted seas. During their expeditions they must contend with mutant beasts, the environment, as well as raiders, cultists, and robotic forces, only to stake their place in the newly emerging barter forts and factional bastions of humanity.

Players can take on the roles of pure stocks, mutants, ghost mutants, cyborgs, bestial humans and an assortment of synthetic or engineered humans. All you need is the TME hub rules book, dice, paper and pencils, a few friends and your imagination.

BEST Art I've seen. Solid game with tons of options. Rules are pretty good and the story / lore is good. I like that it doesn't make you start as a caveman or savage for a change (Not knocking those awesome games). William McAusland has made a labor of love and it shows.

A very well-made post-apocalyptic RPG system

Having played old-school role playing games such as Runequest and Gamma World, The Mutant Epoch takes the best features of both RPGs into a fusion of something fun, fast-paced and interesting. My hard copy of the core rulebook is the print on demand version from Amazon. Character generation gives you the option to generate a post-apocalyptic survivor ranging from the standard Pure Stock Human (think Pure Strain Human in Gamma World) to Clones, Bioreplicas, Transhumans, Cyborgs and of course, Mutants. And mutants a-plenty there are: different types from those with subtle mutations to the really freaky ones, as well a animal-human hybirds. Mr. McAusland is a prolific creator- the book is packed with material from relic technology to junk crafting. There are beasts, implants, mutations and weapons. There are countless black and white illustrations that are evocative and very detailed- something that reminds me of the old Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying game rules for the 1980s. Combat appears to be deadly - something that does justice to the post-apocalyptic genre, and if you are looking for a comprehensive feel of the world The Day After, this does not disappoint.
